Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 24 August 2026

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before purchasing a warranty or using our customer portal. By purchasing a warranty from Autoplan Limited (company number 17370754) you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About AutoPlan Warranty

Autoplan Limited is registered in England and Wales (company number 17370754), with registered office at 86-90 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NE. We provide mechanical breakdown warranty products for used vehicles registered in the United Kingdom. This is a contractual vehicle warranty, not an insurance policy, and is not an FCA-regulated insurance product. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

2. The warranty contract

When you purchase a warranty from us, a separate Warranty Agreement document is issued to you. That document sets out the precise cover, exclusions, claim limits, and conditions specific to your chosen plan. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and your Warranty Agreement, the Warranty Agreement prevails, subject always to your statutory rights.

These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between you and AutoPlan Warranty regarding our website, customer portal, communications, and general business conduct.

3. Cover levels and what is included

We offer tiered warranty products (details published on our website and in your quotation). In general, our warranties cover the cost of parts and labour for mechanical and electrical failures arising during the warranty period, subject to:

  • The listed components for the cover level you selected
  • The claim limits and excess amounts stated in your Warranty Agreement
  • The vehicle being properly maintained in line with the manufacturer's service schedule
  • Faults first occurring after the warranty start date

4. What is not covered (key exclusions)

The following are not covered under any AutoPlan warranty product:

  • Pre-existing conditions or faults known at or before the policy start date
  • Routine maintenance items (tyres, brakes, filters, fluids, wiper blades, bulbs, clutch friction material)
  • Damage caused by accident, collision, vandalism, fire, theft, flood, or other external events
  • Damage resulting from failure to maintain the vehicle
  • Cosmetic damage or deterioration of trim, body panels, glass, or upholstery
  • Vehicles used for hire, reward, racing, rallying, or any commercial purpose not disclosed at time of purchase

A full list of exclusions is set out in your Warranty Agreement.

5. The claim process

  1. Contact us before authorising repairs. You must notify AutoPlan Warranty before any repair work begins. Repairs authorised without our prior approval will not be covered.
  2. Attend an approved repairer. We will direct you to an approved repairer or authorise your chosen VAT-registered garage.
  3. Diagnosis. The repairer will carry out a diagnosis and provide an estimate. We may arrange an independent inspection.
  4. Authorisation. Once we have approved the claim, we will authorise the repairer to proceed with covered repairs up to the applicable claim limit.
  5. Settlement. We will pay the repairer directly (or reimburse you where agreed). You are responsible for any excess, uncovered parts, or amounts above the claim limit.

6. Your obligations

  • Keep your vehicle serviced in accordance with the manufacturer's schedule and retain evidence
  • Provide accurate information at the time of purchase and when making a claim
  • Notify us promptly of any change of vehicle ownership
  • Not to make a fraudulent, exaggerated, or dishonest claim — doing so will void your warranty and may be reported to the police

7. Cancellation and refunds

Cooling-off period (14 days)

You have 14 days from the date the contract is concluded to cancel. This does not affect any wider cancellation or refund rights available under UK law. If you expressly ask us to begin providing a service during this period, any deduction from a refund will only be made where UK law permits and will be explained in your Warranty Agreement.

After 14 days

You may cancel at any time. Subject to the Warranty Agreement and any claim already paid or approved, we will refund a pro-rata amount for the remaining unexpired term. We do not charge a cancellation administration fee.

Where a claim has been made

If a claim has been approved or paid, no refund is due on cancellation.

To cancel, contact us at info@auto-plan.co.uk.

8. Renewal

We will contact you before your warranty expires to offer a renewal. Renewal is not automatic. Accepting a renewal offer constitutes a new warranty agreement subject to the terms and premium applicable at that time.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Autoplan Limited's total liability to you in connection with these Terms and any warranty product shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant warranty policy.

We exclude all liability for indirect or consequential losses including loss of profit, loss of use of the vehicle (beyond any courtesy car benefit included in your plan), or loss of data. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot be excluded by English law.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us in the first instance at info@auto-plan.co.uk or write to us at 86-90 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NE. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 8 weeks.

This product is not an FCA-regulated insurance product, so FCA insurance complaint rules and the compulsory Financial Ombudsman Service route do not apply. If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, our final response will explain any alternative dispute resolution route that is available to you.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory protections available to you under the law of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live, or any right you may have to bring proceedings in your local UK courts.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. We will notify active customers of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of our services after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
